ROMAN FAIRYTALE WEDDING AT ROMA MAGGIO, 2024

CLIENTS: MADELINE + JENS

This Italian wedding was the perfect homage to the bride and groom's heritage and love story. The graphic designer and illustrator bride hand-painted their wedding stationary, drawing inspiration from Orizzonte Room at the Galleria Borghese. The bride’s look was a dress inspired by Giambattista Valli’s Haute Couture gowns. The wedding dress was a collaborative effort with her Nonna, a skilled seamstress, who has greatly influenced by passion for fashion and had (most to be noted) created wedding gowns for ten of the guests who were also in attendance. Special touches included a mother of pearl and diamond lariat borrowed from the bride's aunt, the mother of the bride's vintage 1980’s diamond and sapphire engagement ring (which was gifted to the bride as her wedding band) and vintage YSL earrings. Hand-stitched handkerchiefs made by the mother of the bride and marrying on her Nonna’s 83rd birthday made this truly a momentous family event.

The celebrations began with a cocktail party at Palazzo Colonna, leading to a traditional ceremony at Santi Bonifacio ed Alessio, followed by a reception at Villa Aurelia. After the formal sit-down dinner a nightclub vibe was created, with a DJ spinning house and disco music. They all danced until the lights reluctantly came on at 2am, including Nonna!
